What is insecticide?

An insecticide is an insect repellent used to kill insects in all developmental forms. They include ovicides and larvicides used next to the eggs and larvae of insects. Insecticides are used in farming, medicine, industry and at home. The use of insecticides is supposed to be one of the major factors behind the boost in agricultural productivity in the 20th century.
