Paper Mailbox

For most of the people, mailboxes are just metal or plastic containers to receive the mails. Mailboxes actually are available in a wide array of shapes and sizes. Some varieties of mailboxes have many functions included in the design. Some of the more ornate versions of the mailboxes incorporate unique features as birdbaths, birdhouses, animal's houses and so on. Some mailboxes are so funny that, one would think that it is an effective signpost and also an effective way of advertising. The popular fun mailboxes include toy car, hammer mailbox, fish mailbox, football helmet, cyclist mailbox and so on. Some mailboxes are so weird; they can even frighten the postman away.

Paper Mailbox

Paper Mailboxes are mailboxes made from craft papers. The children in the craft classes usually make them. The paper mailboxes exhibit the creativity of the children. They are taught how to make, funny mailboxes, valentine mailboxes, Christmas mailboxes and so on. The funny mailboxes are usually the cut outs of the animals like dogs, cats and sometimes of the fishes and so on.

Valentine Paper Mailbox

1. Rectangular cardboard box
2. Craft Glue
3. White or any colour of choice self adhesive paper
4. Craft Knife
5. Colored paper of ones choice
6. Scissors
7. Stapler
8. Velcro dots
9. Stickers, Stamps and other decoration

How To Go About It

1. First and foremost cover the entire box with several layers of self-adhesive paper of one's choice. White paper would give best results than the colored ones. Glue the box lid closed.
2. Leaving the back of the cardboard box in tact, cut carefully along the three sides of the box, starting 2inches from the top. Use craft knife for this.
3. Make a tab closure from a 2 1/2- by 3/4-inch strip of colored paper. Fold it in half and staple it to the center front of the cover. Attach Velcro dots to the tab and the box to keep the top shut.
4. Decorate the box with paper cutouts, stamps and or decorations like heart-shaped stickers.
