About filing cabinets in brief:

A file cabinet or filing cabinet is a part of office furniture or equipment that is generally used for temporary or permanent storage of files. Their basic purpose is t store paper containing valuable data. The two most common types of filing cabinets are the vertical ones and the lateral ones of which the vertical is mostly put into use for official purposes. In the lateral type the files are stored in sideways fashion and they are a common sight in most of the government and legal offices. They are also known by the name of side fillers in Britain. The credit for the creation of the modern day filing cabinet goes to Edwin G. Seibel's. It is said that he had the brilliant idea while working in his father's office that the then current system of storing papers by folding them into envelopes and placing them into pigeonholes could surely be improved if the folding was dispensed with. This marked the beginning of a new era of storing papers in large envelopes vertically, in drawers.

What are oak filing cabinets:

The Oak being a hard wood has found its application in furniture. Both the types of filing cabinets the vertical ones and the lateral ones are found in oak wood and are manufactured widely in the US and the whole of European Union. There is also a wide range of quality they are found in. An oak filing cabinet in general is available with 2-10 drawers. One of the most important aspects of an oak cabinets system is their professionalism that they add to an office and their royal look as well. However, there are many cheap filing cabinets available in the market that have such flimsy suspensions that once laden with files the drawers will hardly open and shut, and may often stick. The prominent features of the oak filing cabinets are their durability and the handloom quality. Besides this they also have a crisp white appearance that acts as a point for attraction for any oak furniture. Most of the oak filing cabinets that are available in the market range anywhere from US$30 to US$2000 depending mainly on their quality, type and size. One can expect a minimum ten-year guaranty in an average on each of such products.
