Live in an Energy Saving House

When you start out a family, you have to know the basics of energy saving to make sure that everything goes according to budget and nothing is wasted. An energy saving house is what you need: this is a house that knows all the rudimentaries of saving, from picking out energy-efficient appliances to knowing the proper materials to use for renovation.

An energy saving house is what every family must know by heart. If all houses are governed by the basic rules and regulations of energy saving, then millions of dollars will be saved and properly utilized!

So attention to all homeowners! Let me take you to a step-by-step guide on how your house will be transformed to an energy saving one. These steps are easy ones - baby steps, we may call them - and you can employ them to each room of the house, but once these baby steps convene together, you have dramatic energy savings right there.

A. Bathroom

1. Believe it: bath uses three times more water than taking a shower. So what do you do next time? Take a shower for your energy saving house.

2. We all love soaking in the tub to drive the stress away. What we do often is the hotter the water, the better. Now save some energy for your house and don't overdo the heat.

3. An energy saving house does not have dripping faucets. Save as much as 4000 gallons every month by saying byebye to dripping faucets.

4. We develop this habit of turning the faucet on when we brush our teeth. What's up with that? Turn off the faucet and brush your teeth. Hurray for 3650 gallons of water that you can save for a year if you do just that.

5. An energy saving house has a very convenient medicine cabinet. Stock up with medicines in large containers, ditch the trash and live healthily and frugally!

B. Kitchen

1. When we wash the dishes, we tend to leave the water on. That's a big no-no if we're eyeing an energy saving house.

2. Leave the oven door closed at times when you're whipping up something. Remember that 1/4 of the heat goes out when the door is left open.

3. Remember that when you're frying something or just practically cooking, place the lids on pans. The food gets cooked faster that way.

4. We raid the fridge all the time and we spend a lot of time choosing what food to eat, leaving the refrigerator door open for a long time. Be steadfast on your food decisions then open the door and close it right away. That's how an energy saving house works.

5. You know what? Why do you have to use an electrical mixer or batter when you mix something? Why not do it yourself?

6. Again, an energy saving house contains a kitchen cabinet that knows recyclable materials and containers.

C. Bedroom

1. Keep the sun from heating your room in full blast by closing the curtains every morning. This is best applicable during summer when the sun runs amok.

2. We all know how cold it gets when winter arrives, but instead of turning up the heater to its maximum level, why not just cover yourself up with a bunch of blankets? This paves the way for a bigtime energy saving house.

3. This is a basic rule that was taught to us since we were kids: turn off the light when no one is inside the room. An energy saving house does not use up too much light, remember that.

4. Rule of thumb: an energy saving house makes use of fluorescent light bulbs because they save about 40 percent energy! So replace all your bulbs with fluorescent light right now and see the difference when your energy bill comes along.

D. Laundry

1. Cold water must be utilized when doing the laundry. If you switch to hot water, that's just close to saying that you are wasting as much as ninety percent energy!

2. Skip the dryer when we're talking about small objects like handkerchiefs and socks.

3. Simple but important rule for an energy saving house: leave the fuse box alone!
