If you are like most people however, Christmas home decoration and preparation are done during December. That one month could well be a stressful-joyful month because of the so many activities though you would want your home to look festive and catch on the holiday atmosphere. Here then are tips to a Christmas dcor that you could do fast enough to give you much time left for your other Christmas activities.
Have a generous amount of Bows handy. Bows immediately remind us of festivities particularly so of Christmas. Tie bows/ribbons to stair railings, the back of chairs, throw pillows, candlesticks, doorknobs, drapery tie backs, plants etc. While the popular colors are green and red the patterns should be coordinated well with the general idea of your interior design. Do not be tied down with just the plain reds and the greens, floral and plaid designs could also be applied. Give it a good sprinkling of gold, silver and greens and reds, but use also other colors. Drape garlands on railings, on top of armoires, mirrors and the mantle. Get also a good quality ribbon. When packed right you could reuse that next year and save money.
* When decorating a Christmas tree, put in the lights first. That way you will know what decorations in the tree are to be attached nearest to the lights so that it gives more sparkle and are highlighted. You could also see a good balance when Christmas lights are lighted on before hanging the garland, the Christmas balls and other Christmas dcor.
* You can highlight the spirit of the season by your Christmas home dcor by using tableware that is repeatedly used only during the Christmas season and most especially during the Christmas dinner. If you want to save on this, by them off-season as Christmas home dcor sale are normally conducted prior and after Christmas. You also do not have to buy a whole new bunch of sets. A little at a time if the budget is tight will in the end bring you a good collection for your Christmas home dcor.
* Do not forget the candles. There is something in candles that are romantic and peaceful. Dine by the candlelight and start a good fir in the fireplace. This will greatly add to capturing the spirit of the season and enhance your Christmas home dcor. Always have an adult around though.
* Holiday wreaths give that special Christmas feel to your Christmas home dcor. Hang them on doors inside and out, over the mantle, windows. For added festive spirit to your Christmas home dcor, decorate it with real holly and pine and decorate it with ribbons, fruits, pine, cones, candies, photos etc.
Then play Christmas music.
